Tour Mies Van Der Rohe Masterpiece with Caf

Significant works by master architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe are featured in the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Farnsworth House Plus by Bus tour. The seven-hour tour includes lunch and stops at the apartment buildings at 860 - 880 N. Lake Shore Drive and the IIT campus buildings.

Tours are scheduled for 9:30 a.m., selected Sundays and Thursdays, April through October with a cost of $70.00. Seniors, students and CAF members get a discount.

13th Annual Charity Event - Bloomingdale's

 April, 2008, Chicago, IL…Bloomingdale's will host The Shopping Benefit on Wednesday, August 28, 2008 from 10am-10pm in its four Chicagoland locations: 900 North Michigan Avenue, Old Orchard Center, and the Home & Furniture Stores at Medinah Temple and in Oakbrook Center. 

Participating non-profit charities will begin selling event tickets in early August for $10 each, with all ticket sales directly benefiting these organizations.  In addition, when guests present their tickets the day of the event, they will earn an additional $5* for the organization from which they purchased their ticket.  Tickets entitle the holder to a 15%-20%** savings on purchases made throughout the day at Bloomingdale's stores, and in addition, all entertainment and events associated with The Shopping Benefit are complimentary to attendees.

Jordan Krimstein on Location at Kamp Gallery

Inspired by the mountains of Colorado, the fishing piers of Michigan, the Chicago Botanic Garden, Wrigley Field and, most recently, the Pritzker Pavilion band shell designed by Frank Gehry in Millennium Park, Jordan Krimstein's bold and dynamic water colors evoke "joie de vivre" with every stroke.  Twenty of his works will be featured in a retrospective exhibit, "Jordan Krimstein on Location," Sept. 25 – Oct. 25, at Kamp Gallery in the Drake Hotel Arcade, 140 E. Walton Pl.  An opening reception with the artist will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25.
