May will be a Magnificent Month full of exciting activations along The Mag Mile! And, did we mention, the #MagMileTulips will FINALLY be blooming?!
During the week of Cinco de Mayo (May 2 - 10), the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, in partnership with Visit Mexico, will celebrate a week of activities, sharing the culture, traditions, and cuisine in the first edition of Mexico Week in Chicago. See below for a full list of programming, including the installment of the traveling sculpture, "Wings of Mexico" which will call The Magnificent Mile home for the next six months.
We also welcome back Chicago and Magnificent Mile workers to their offices to reconnect with co-workers and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city as part of the larger Chicago Returns efforts led by BOMA/Chicago, the City of Chicago, and World Business Chicago. Scroll down to view events and promotions along The Avenue happening May 2 - 6.
In partnership with the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago and Visit Mexico, the sculpture, "Wings of Mexico" by renowned artist Jorge Marín, is coming to The Magnificent Mile this May! The "Wings of Mexico" installation will be unveiled for viewing and pictures in the Plaza of the Americas on Thursday, May 5 at 4:00 p.m. and will stay on display through October 1, 2022. The sculpture is interactive and draws in new meaning as each individual stands before it and wears the wings.
