This year’s Toast celebrates 21, the legal drinking and gambling age, as well as the 100th anniversary of Prohibition. The event will also serve as a baseball season kick off rally. The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox both have opening away games the next day on March 28th.
As is tradition every year, fans around the world will raise a drink to the memory of legendary Hall of Fame baseball announcer Harry Caray. Over the years, more than five million fans from all 50 states and over 200 countries have joined in the annual tribute to the legendary baseball broadcaster. Harry, who was known to fans as the Cub Fan Bud Man, estimated that he consumed over 73,000 Budweiser’s and 300,000 alcoholic beverages during his lifetime.
