Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presents a participatory exhibition by blkHaUS studios in the museum's Commons space. BLKHAUS is a Chicago-based design studio that explores design as a vehicle for social change.
Inspired by the MCA's Collection, blkHaUS’s project examines the ways museum collections convey meaning and reflect diverse narratives, inspiring cross-cultural dialogue and exchange.
blkHaUS studios encourages visitors to explore the personal values of their own collections that are significant to them and represent their community.
Participants are encouraged to bring small items they feel represent their community to be added to the Commons Collection, allowing visitors to discover the personal and cultural values of the museum’s broad community.
