Defense and Regeneration

Located on the southern pylons of the DuSable Bridge, Defense and Regeneration were carved by Heny Hering and were erected by the B.F. Ferguson Monument Fund.

Defense depicts the Potawotomi attack on the U.S. contingent evacuating Fort Dearborn, and Regeneration focuses on the rebuilding of the city of Chicago after the Great Fire of 1871.
