The American Writers Museum inaugural benefit dinner.

At OnWord2019, the AWM's inaugural benefit dinner, guests will get a first look at some of the typewriters that will be featured in the upcoming exhibit Tools of the Trade in a special, one-night-only pop-up event. Steve Soboroff will be at the event to display his collection and tell the stories behind the typewriters.

Peter Sagal, host of NPR’s hit show "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!" will be our Master of Ceremonies as we celebrate the many contributions of leaders in the national writing community. Award-winning authors A. Scott Berg, Rebecca Makkai, and Marie Arana will be featured in our awards ceremony. AWM Founder Malcolm O’Hagan will present the Cultural and Civic Leader Award to Edward J. Wehmer, President and CEO, Wintrust Financial.
