In conjuction with the exhibition Direct Message: Art, Language, and Power, a panel of artists, gallerists, and scholars consider the visible and invisible economies that support artistic practice from social networks to fiscal sponsorship.
Both the philanthropic and commercial sides of the art world operate in ways both visible and invisible, constantly causing the modalities of artists’ practices to shift and restructure. The panel includes artist Edgar Arceneaux and Deana Haggag, President and CEO of United States Artists.
