Tattoo follows the history and culture of tattooing around the world over the past 5,000 years. It also includes modern and Chicago-based work.
This new exhibition at The Field Museum looks at the specific practices of tattooing around the world, throughout history. From Japan to the US to North Africa, techniques from across the world are analyzed. Tattoo also takes a modern twist by looking at how current tattooing practices relate to those of the past.
