Michigan Avenue Forums at Fourth Presbyterian Church seek to promote civic formation with public discussions of current issues shaping the community’s ethical landscape. The November 2023 forum, "Understanding Antisemitism," will explore the history of antisemitism, including the Christian church’s role in its promotion and perpetuation; the recent rise in violent episodes and hate crimes; and concrete strategies for non-Jewish houses of worship to dismantle antisemitism and pursue reconciliation and healing. The speakers in this panel discussion will be Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg, Scholar in Residence at National Council of Jewish Women; Becca Lubow, community organizer at Jewish Council on Urban Affairs; and the Reverend Nanette Sawyer, Associate Pastor at Fourth Church. Free and open to the public, this forum will be held in the Sanctuary of Fourth Church (enter at the corner of Michigan and Delaware) as well as livestramed on the Fourth Church YouTube channel: www.bit.ly/fpcvideos
